B.K.Ramachandra Rao's Account Journal
B.K.Ramachandra Rao's Account Journal of Dec 1909 (page 1). The journal consisting of seven pages covers the period Dec 1909, and Jan-Mar 1910. The very first entry for Dec month is notable; it records the purchase of a Singer Challenge Bicycle at a cost of Rs 132 - considerable sum of money back then.

B.K.Ramachandra Rao's Account Journal for the month of Jan 1910 (page 2). Ramachandra Rao drew a monthly salary of Rs 97-14-8 (then Indian currency) as detailed in his entry dated 17.1.'10. There is an additional note that states "Till salary was received, managed by borrowing". It is possible that it was Ramachandra Rao's first job

B.K.Ramachandra Rao's Account Journal of Feb 1910 (page 5). Ramachandra Rao's entries are again interesting. On first Feb an expenditure of Rs 24-4-0 is shown as "Money sent for giving Scholarship". It is not clear what scholarship or for whom the money was sent. 11th Feb entry reads "Money order to the tune of Rs 25 to the elder brother towards Manjunathayya's education expense at Mangalore". Diary maintained by Manjunathayya confirms that his education from II Form through completion of Engineering was almost entirely supported by Ramachandra Rao
